Flyleaf shows foxing, as does flanking page. This 5th overall printing was published in 1948 the year of Gandhi's assassination. The total print run of all five printings combined was only 41,000 copies. This copy is the 5th overall printing or the 2nd edition 4th printing. The next printing was the second edition which printed even less than the first this time 5,000 copies. This title was printed in such tiny pressings that the first edition, first printing was only 6,000 copies. His childhood, his journey to England, his life in South Africa and the non-cooperation movement in India are all discussed at length in this mind-opening book. The book gives us a better understanding of the habits that Gandhi rigorously inculcated into his daily routine. Being a proponent of Ahimsa or nonviolence, Gandhi diligently stuck to a set of practices from early on in life. In the last chapter, he notes that his life from this point onward became so public that there was hardly anything about it that people did not know.
